VINCE LOMBARDI, DOMINIC OLEJNICZAK and GEORGE DIXON
Vince Lombardi and Dominic Olejniczak sign a check to player George Dixon for $4.48 in 1959.
Check signed: "Vincent Lombardi" as General Manager of the Green Bay Packers, 8x3. Green Bay, Wisconsin, 1959 July 24. Check No. 403, drawn on the Green Bay Packers, Inc. account at Kellogg Citizens National Bank, payable to George Dixon for $4.48, endorsed on verso: "George Dixon." Also signed: "Dominic Olejniczak" as President of the Green Bay Packers. In his rookie season, VINCE LOMBARDI (1913-1970) earned Coach of the Year honors. The following year, he led the Green Bay Packers to their first Western Conference title since 1944. Then came the legendary Super Bowl run of the 1960s when the Packers took home four additional NFL titles, including the first two Super Bowls Crowns (1967, 1968). At the time of his death, Lombardi was the NFL's all-time most winning coach with percentage of .740 (105-35-6). The Super Bowl trophy is named in honor of Lombardi, who was elected to the Football Hall of Fame in 1971. DOMINIC OLEJNICZAK (1908-1989) was the Green Bay Packers President and Chairman of the Board. Appointed in 1958, he served as President for over 24 years, longer than anyone in the Green Bay Packer franchise history. Athlete GEORGE DIXON (1933-1990) was a star running back for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League from 1959-1965. He had a chance to play for the Green Bay Packers during Lombardi's rookie season in 1959, but he failed to make the final cut, missing out on being part of the greatest dynasties in NFL history. He became a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Bank cancellation holes at left portion (touching Dixon's signature). Light show through of bank cancellation stamps on verso (not near signatures). Fine condition.
