VINCE LOMBARDI, DOMINIC OLEJNICZAK and NORM MASTERS
Vince Lombardi and Dominic Olejniczak sign a check to lineman Norm Masters for $50.00 in 1959.
Check signed: "Vincent Lombardi" as General Manager of the Green Bay Packers, 8x3. Green Bay, Wisconsin, 1959 September 5. Check No. 815, drawn on the Green Bay Packers, Inc. account at Kellogg Citizens National Bank, payable to Norman Masters for $50.00, endorsed on verso: "Norman Masters". Also signed: "Dominic Olejniczak" as President of the Green Bay Packers. In his rookie season, VINCE LOMBARDI (1913-1970) earned Coach of the Year honors. The following year, he led the Green Bay Packers to their first Western Conference title since 1944. Then came the legendary Super Bowl run of the 1960s when the Packers took home four additional NFL titles, including the first two Super Bowls Crowns (1967, 1968). At the time of his death, Lombardi was the NFL's all-time most winning coach with percentage of .740 (105-35-6). The Super Bowl trophy is named in honor of Lombardi, who was elected to the Football Hall of Fame in 1971. DOMINIC OLEJNICZAK (1908-1989) was the Green Bay Packers President and Chairman of the Board. Appointed in 1958, he served as President for over 24 years, longer than anyone in the Green Bay Packer franchise history. NORMAN MASTERS (1933-2011) was an offensive lineman who played for the Green Bay Packers between 1957 and 1964. He clinched two Super Bowl Championship titles with Lombardi during the glory years of the 1960s. Masters was originally drafted by the Chicago Cardinals in 1956, but ended up on the Packers by the start of the season. Bank cancellation holes at left portion (touching Masters' signature). Light show through of bank cancellation stamps on verso (not near signatures). Fine condition.
