In his rookie season, Vince Lombardi (1913-1970) earned Coach of the Year honors. The following year, he led the Packers to their first Western Conference title since 1944. The legendary coach led the Green Bay Packers to four additional NFL titles, and his teams won the first two Super Bowls (1967, 1968). At the time of his death, Lombardi was the NFL's all-time most winning coach with percentage of .740 (105-35-6). The Super Bowl trophy is named in honor of Lombardi, who was elected to the Football Hall of Fame in 1971. Alex Hawkins (b.1937) was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 2nd round of the 1959 NFL Draft. While he survived brutal summer training, Hawkins was cut by the Pack in September of his rookie year. He later played running back for the Baltimore Colts and Atlanta Falcons. Known for his creative plays on special teams, Hawkins served as co-Captain on the Colts, earning the nickname "Captain-Who". In 1970s he had a brief career in sports casting until he was fired for using derogatory language while on air. Cancellation stamps touch Hawkin's signature (still legible). Creased.
