VINCENT PRICE, CO-SIGNED BY: DR. LUTHER TERRY
Handwritten note wishing "All my Best to you All these years later" by Price. Comes with the 1965 signature by Terry, who issued the first Surgeon General's Health Warning on cigarettes
Autograph Sentiment signed: "All my Best to you/All these years later/Vincent Price" by Price and, on verso, "Luther L. Terry/Dec. 7, 1965" by Terry, both in blue ink. Also numbered in corner in blue ink in unknown hand. 2 pages, 6¾x9, one sheet front and verso. Price side of page has a small magazine photograph and bio affixed, while the Terry side has a magazine photograph affixed. A master of the horror genre, PRICE (1911-1993, born Vincent Leonard Price, Jr. in St. Louis, Missouri) was an American actor with over 170 films and TV shows to his credit between 1938 and 1993. He starred in such other spine-tingling films as House of Wax (1953), The Fly (1958), The Fall of the House of Usher (1960), The Pit and the Pendulum (1961) and The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971). The actor, also a veteran of Broadway, stage and serious films, was also a noted art expert and collector. Price frequently lectured on art and published several books on the subject. TERRY (1911-1985, born in Red Level, Alabama) was an American doctor and Surgeon General of the United States from 1961 to 1965. He's probably best known for warning that smoking is a health hazard, which he issued in 1964. This warning linked lung cancer and chronic bronchitis to cigarette smoking. This warning was responsible for the Cigarette Labeling and Advertising Act of 1965 which mandated, among other things, the now-famous Surgeon General's Health Warnings on cigarette packages. Lightly toned and creased. Neatly torn from album or pad on one side. Otherwise, fine condition.
