An official Rawlings baseball signed by the boxer
Baseball signed: "[drawn star]/Vinne 'Paz'/[drawn
smiling face]". Rawlings official National League ball, Leonard S.
Coleman, Jr., President. Vinny Pazienza (b. 1962), who bears the
nickname of "Pazmanian Devil", changed his last name to Paz in the 1990s.
He won the IBF's lightweight championship in 1987, and then began a
series of challenges in heavier weight categories. He made the largest leap
ever in championship weights (24 pounds) when he gained the WBA's junior
middleweight title in 1991, regaining his title fighting in a neck brace against
doctors' advice! He waged tough fights against top contenders in the super
middleweight class in the 1990s. Pazienza kept his promise to retire after 50
victories. He won a unanimous 10-round decision over Tucker Pudwill in 2004,
and then retired with a record of 50-10 (30 wins by knockout). Slightly soiled.
Otherwise, fine condition.
