American stage actress Viola Allen (1867-1948) performed professionally on
Broadway from 1882. She was actor John McCullough's leading lady, and she
appeared with most of the prominent actors of her time in both Shakespearean and
modern roles. She appeared in three silent films, The Scales of
Justice (1914), The White Sister (1915), and Open
Your Eyes (1919). Allen retired from professional acting in 1918, but
continued to make charitable appearances, including war benefit concerts. Toned.
