English actress Virginia Field (1917-1992) was named for the State of Virginia, to honor Robert E. Lee, a cousin of her mother. After studying acting in Vienna with Max Reinhardt, she made her film debut in The Lady is Willing (1934). Invited to Hollywood, she soon found herself typecast as "the other woman" or female assistant, as in the Mr. Moto series , but she had more success on Broadway, starring in The Doughgirls (1942) and Light Up the Sky (1948). No stranger to American television, she made six appearances on Perry Mason (1957-1966). Her first husband was actor Paul Douglas; her third, from 1951 until her death, was actor Willard Parker. Corners worn and creased. Ink stamps. Lightly soiled on outer edges. Ink notes (unknown hand). Slightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
