Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Mary-/A real/dear, My
very/best-especially/for you-/Always,//Vivian Blaine". B/w, 8x10. A former
band singer featured in 20th Century Fox Film musicals of the 1940s, including
State Fair (1945), Blaine (1921-1995) created the role of Miss
Adelaide in the Broadway musical Guys and Dolls (1955), a part she
reprised in the London production and film version (1955). She and Pinky Lee
co-hosted a TV musical variety show, Those Two (1951-1952). Blaine
appeared in character roles in films and TV into the early 1980s. Slightly
creased. Fine condition.
