WALLY BERNS The actor types this letter to Todd Axelrod, C.E.O. of the Gallery of History, honoring a request for photos and discussing the trajectory of his career in Hollywood Typed Letter signed: "Wally" in black ink, 3p, 8½x11. No place, 1984 June 23. To "Dear Todd". In part: "Finally, feeling the time was right in the early 70's to make the big push, I got out of production, as it was taking up too much of my time, and went strictly for the acting career and the TV movie "I LOVE YOU, GOODBYE" was my first job using English dialogue…I found it very difficult to get work in TV at that time, as it is a different world with different demands for the actor…so I've been told. At any rate, after that, my television career began to blossom and I worked such shows as "THE INCREDIBLE HULK", "BUCK ROGERS", "SWITCH", "CHIPS", etc." Actor Wally K. Berns (1929-1991), who was sometimes credited as Waldo K. Berns, appeared in a number of feature films, including The Day of the Locust (1975),The Apple Dumpling Gang (1975), The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington (1977), The Cheap Detective (1978), Raging Bull (1980), The Devil and Max Devlin (1981), and The Killing Zone (1991, his last film). He also made guest appearances on several TV shows, including Combat! in 1965 and 1967, The Incredible Hulk in 1978 and Murder, She Wrote in 1985. The Lost Saucer ran on ABC during the 1975-1976 season. Tops edges of pages gently worn and creased. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
