Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1934 December 20. To "Dear Mr. Bohrer,
in full: "I am very glad to send you my autograph, and I am
delighted that you liked ROME HAUL so much. Sincerely yours". Walter
Dumaux Edmonds (1903-1998) was a historical novelist, writing 34 books (some
of them for children). His bestselling title was Guns Along the Mohawk
(1936), made into a popular 1939 film. He won the National Book Award in
1971 for Bert Breen's Barn. Rome Haul was the first of
Edmonds' 13 novels, published between 1929 and 1985. Multiple mailing folds.
Paper clip impressions at left edge. Otherwise, fine
condition.
