New York, N.Y., dues $10 per year. Damrosch has handwritten his address in:
"133 E. 80th St/New York". Damrosch. Emigrating from Germany in
1871, Damrosch became music director of New York's Oratorio Society and
Symphony Orchestra. He composed operas of his own (Cyrano, 1913;
The Man Without a Country (1937) and championed young American
composers like George Gershwin and Aaron Copland. Lightly creased. ½" tear
at left of top edge, ¼" tear at center of right edge. Vertical fold crosses "m"
of signature. Overall, fine condition.
