He signs a typed letter reporting that his next film will co-star Greer Garson.
TLS: "Walter Pidgeon", 1 page, 5¼x7¼. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Culver City California, no date but circa 1940-1941. On his personal letterhead to "Dear Friend". In full: "Many thanks for your note. It may interest you to know that my next appearance will be in 'Blossoms in the Dust' with Greer Garson. With best wishes." Blossoms in the Dust was released in 1941, the year before Pidgeon and Garson co-starred again in the Oscar winning Mrs. Miniver. Canadian actor Walter Pidgeon (1898-1984), who had his first leading roles in silent films, earned Best Actor Academy Award nominations for Ms. Miniver (1942) and Madame Curie (1943). He had prominent roles in many other successful films, including How Green Was My Valley (1941), The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), Forbidden Planet (1956), Advise and Consent (1962) and Funny Girl (1968). Pidgeon received a Tony nomination as Best Actor in a Musical for Take Me Along (1960). Slightly creased and soiled. Overall, fine condition.
