WALTER REED and A.C. LYLES
A signed candid color photograph (4x6) of the veteran entertainment professionals posing together in sharp suits
Inscribed photograph signed: "For Clint/you good friend/Walter Reed" and "To clint--/good luck always/A.C. Lyles", in silver ink. Color, 4x6. Candid photo. Actor Walter Reed (1916-2001) was the son of an Army officer. He first appeared in stock and on Broadway before breaking into films (with the help of Joel McCrea) in the early 1940s. Reed's films include Seven Days' Leave (1942), Return of the Bad Men (1948), Superman and the Mole-Men (1951), Thunderbirds (1952), War Paint (1953), The High and the Mighty (1954), The Horse Soldiers (1959) and Fort Courageous (1965). Reed also appeared as a guest star on a long list of television shows, including three appearances on The Adventures of Superman (1952, 1958), as well as on Westerns, sci-fi series and sitcoms. In the late 1960s, after appearing in the made-for-TV movie, Deadlock, and directing the TV film The Monk, Reed retired from acting to become a real estate investor and broker. Over nearly 40 years, Reed racked up over 200 film and television credits. A.C. Lyles (1918-2013), a long-time executive at Paramount Pictures, produced a number of feature films, made-for-TV movies and the TV series Here's Boomer (1980-1982). His feature films include Short Cut to Hell (1957, his debut film), The Young and The Brave (1963), Johnny Reno (1966) and Night of the Lepus (1972). He produced the television movies The Last Day (1975) and Flight to Holocaust (1977). Lyles, who made his only cameo appearance in The Hunt for Red October (1990), was a Hollywood liaison during the Reagan and Bush administrations. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1988. Fine condition.
