WARREN H. CADWORTH
Signed Autograph Sentiment on a 4x1 slip
Autograph Sentiment signed: "Cordially yours/W. H. Cadworth", 3¾x1¼. Warren H. Cadworth was a Protestant minister from Boston who made headlines with a sermon delivered in New York on a visit there in August 1871. The sermon, titled, "How to Save New York,", reported approvingly by the New York Times, began, "New York is quite as good as Boston. But that is nothing in its favor." He went on to identify the cities three great sins: intemperance, licentiousness and political corruption. Mounting residue on verso. Otherwise fine condition.
