Wayne Gretzky, who was known as "The Great One", won theNational Hockey League's Hart Trophy (MVP) a record nine times and the Art Ross Trophy (scoring leader) a record ten times. The Conn Smythe Trophy (playoffs' MVP) was won by Gretzky in 1985 and 1988; no player has won it more than twice.
