WAYNE MALLORY
The actor signs this typed note to Charles Mank explaining his
favorite prayer, attached to the original letter from Mank
Typed note signed: "Wayne Mallory. OK to use, print in 2nd Vol of
'My Favorite Prayer'" in blue ink. 7½x1 slip affixed to 8½x11 larger page
with typed letter to signer. Note in full: "There are many wonderful prayers
I have read and heard but I think the one that is the most comforting and
spiritually satisfying is the Lord's Prayer." Wayne Mallory (b. 1924)
was an American television and film actor. His first film roles were mainly
war-themed titles such as Here Come the Marines (1952), What Price
Glory (1952), and One Minute to Zero (1952). Later he appeared in
many TV westerns, including Death Valley Days, The Cisco Kid,
Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok, The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp,
as well as the films Reprisal! (1956), The Storm Rider (1957),
and Bullwhip (1958). Mallory is the younger brother of actor
Guy Madison.
This item comes from the estate of Charles "Chaw" Mank Jr.
(1902-1985), noted songwriter, author, bandleader, record producer, sheet
music publisher, psychic, radio personality, silent movie theater organist,
world champion pen pal, inveterate collector and Hollywood/music fan club
pioneer. Toned. Corners rounded. Folds throughout. Holes from staple near top
left corner with dark rectangular section from something previously attached.
