WESLEY SNIPES
Actor poses in suit and tie in promotional photograph from his film Passenger 57, signs name in blue ink
Photograph signed: "Wesley/ Snipes" in blue felt tip. B/w, 8x10. Still from his role as John Cutter in Passenger 57 (1992). Versatile American leading man Wesley Snipes (b. 1962) got his start on the stage, with two appearances on Broadway between 1985 and 1986, before making his movie debut in Wildcats (1986). The year after, he appeared the full-length version of Martin Scorsese's video for Michael Jackson's Bad (1987). His performance there as a street tough caught the notice of director Spike Lee, who cast him opposite Denzel Washington in Mo' Better Blues (1990) and his breakout role in Jungle Fever (1991). Snipes has put together a varied resume since then, with comedies (White Men Can't Jump, 1992), thrillers (The Fan, 1996) and dramas (The Waterdance, 1991). A karate black belt, he's also proven himself an action hero, and occasional villain, in movies like Passenger 57 (1992), Demolition Man (1993) and the Blade series (1998-2004). Snipes bucked his own testosterone-soaked image with a drag role in 1995's To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar. Fine condition.
