WILD HONEY PLAY CAST
Kim Cattrall, Ian McKellen, Kate Burton and Kathryn Walker sign the cover of this Playbill.
Show Bill signed: "Ian McKellen", "Kim Cattrall", "Kate Burton", "Kathryn Walker", 98 pages, 5½x8½. Playbill for a production of the comedy Wild Honey at New York's Virginia Theatre (December 1986 - January 1987). An accomplished Shakespearean actor since his days at Cambridge, IAN McKELLEN (b. 1939) has won multiple Oliver awards, and a Tony, while being nominated for two Oscars and five Emmys. He may be best known now to a wide audience for his roles as super villain Magneto in the X-Men films (2000-2006) and as the wizard Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-2003). Among his other well-known films are Six Degrees of Separation (1993), Richard III (updated to a tale of modern fascism, 1995), Gods and Monsters (1998) and The Da Vinci Code (2006). English actress KIM CATRALL (b. 1956) appeared in some distinguished stage roles (A View From the Bridge, Agnes of God) and less distinguished films (Porky's, Police Academy) before landing her Emmy-nominated role as Samantha Jones in the HBO series Sex and the City (1998-2004). KATE BURTON, born in Geneva in 1957, as she notes here, was the daughter of famed actor Richard Burton and producer Sybil Burton. She appeared with her father in the TV mini-series Ellis Island (1984). The Present Laughter, her Broadway debut in a Noel Coward revival, would prove auspicious for Burton in another way: she met her future husband, theatrical producer Michael Ritchie, working then as the production's stage manager. Burton has gone on to an impressive acting career, one of only two actors to receive two Tony nominations in the same year (2002, for Hedda Gabler and Elephant Man). She would receive another Tony nomination in 2006 for The Constant Wife. Burton's film resume now includes Anne of the Thousand Days, First Wives Club and The Ice Storm, usually playing - she has observed - "the sweet wife or the sweet dead wife." She won a Daytime Emmy for an ABC Afterschool Special, and received two Emmy nominations (2005-2006) as Alzheimer's-afflicted surgeon Ellis Grey on Grey's Anatomy. She has made many TV guest appearances, and narrates audiobooks by such popular authors as Dean Koontz and Patricia Cornwell. She currently portrays Vice President Sally Langston on the ABC hit series Scandal. Wild Honey was the fifth Broadway appearance for KATHRYN WALKER (b. 1943), dating back to The Good Doctor (1973-1974). She won an Emmy as Abigail Adams in the PBS mini-series The Adams Chronicles (1976). Her film appearances include Blade (1973) and Neighbors (as John Belushi's wife, 1981). In real life she was married to James Taylor for 10 years. Walker has directed many classic Greek dramas for the New York's 92nd Street Y. Fine condition.
