Price: $160.00
WILFRID HYDE-WHITE
The actor signs his name on a Playbill for a production of
The Reluctant Debutante.
Show bill signed: "Good luck/Wilfrid/Hyde/White", in black
felt tip, 37 pages, 6½x9. Playbill for a production of The
Reluctant Debutante at Henry Miller's Theatre in New York. Wilfrid
Hyde-White (1903-1991) specialized in "benign but stuffy upper-class
English types" (Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide). His best known role
was that of Col. Pickering in the film version of My Fair Lady
(1964). He appeared on a number of Broadway stages and with Laurence
Olivier and Vivien Leigh in Shakespearean roles. Tax problems kept him out
of the UK in later years, a blessing for US TV producers who used him for many
guest spots. Lightly toned. Corners worn. Otherwise, fine
condition.
