WILLARD MOVIE CAST: ERNEST BORGNINE and BRUCE DAVISON Signed black and white publicity photograph for the 1971 film depicting the actors' characters right as Willard (Davison) threatens Al Martin (Borgnine) with his pack of rats Printed Photograph signed in Ink: "Best/ Wishes/ Ernest Borgnine", "Bruce Davidson" B/w, 9½x8. In 1955, ERNEST BORGNINE (1917-2012) proved his versatility in the film version of Paddy Chayefsky's acclaimed television play Marty. Borgnine's moving portrayal earned him an Oscar, a British Academy award, a Cannes Festival award, and an award from both the New York Film Critics and the National Board of Review. In 1962, he was cast in the role that most baby boomers best remember him for, Quentin McHale in the sitcom McHale's Navy. During the '60s and '70s, Borgnine appeared in many films including The Dirty Dozen (1966), Ice Station Zebra (1968) and The Wild Bunch (1969). Following the demise of McHale's Navy, Borgnine continued his busy career. Notable features include The Poseidon Adventure (1972) and Law and Disorder (1974). BRUCE DAVISON (b. 1946) was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and won the Golden Globe in that category for Longtime Companion (1990). After making his film debut in 1969 in Last Summer, Davison would go on to appear in such films as Willard (1971), Mame (1974), Spies Like Us (1985), Six Degrees of Separation (1993), The Baby-Sitters Club (1995), Paulie (1998), X-Men (2000), X2 (2003), Runaway Jury (2003) and Breach (2007). Known to TV audiences for his role as Doug Hellman on Close to Home (2005-2007), Davison has guest starred on a number of TV series, and he has appeared in a long list of made-for-TV movies.
