Autograph letter signed: "Wm Adams," 3p, 4½x7. London, 1868 October 28. To Dr. R. Reynolds. In part: "A lady, Mrs. Neil Goen, wishes to take a house of mine at Barnes for a few months & mentioned that you were attending her husband...I thought you would not mind telling me in confidence, whether they appear to be trustworthy peoples...Don't trouble to write but put yes or no on a piece of paper & send it by bearer...." William Adams was a prominent 19th century British surgeon and teacher who published various books on surgery and pathology. Merits further research. Fine condition.
