Small card signed by William B. Allison, U. S. Representative and Senator from Iowa
Signature: "WB. Allison/Iowa". 3½x2 card. Allison (1829-1908) was a U. S. Representative (1863-1871) and U. S. Senator (1873-1908) from Iowa. He co-sponsored the Bland-Allison Act in 1878, which restored the silver dollar as legal tender, and helped to pass the Hepburn Act, a railroad rate regulation bill, in 1906. Lightly toned, foxed, bowed and rippled. Signature has bled lightly in places but is legible. Discoloration along right edge, which touches signature. Mounting residue on verso (no show-through). Irregular bottom edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
