Memoir of Madness'/By/William Styron". A paragraph from his popular memoir, which
was published in 1990. Author William Clark Styron (1925-2006) was awarded the 1968
Pulitzer Prize in Fiction for The Confessions of Nat Turner, a first-person account of an
1831 slave rebellion. His other well known novel, Sophie's Choice, was published in 1979.
Styron, who had published his first novel, Lie Down in Darkness, in 1951, was awarded the
American National Medal of Arts by the National Endowment of the Arts in 1993. Lightly
creased. Fine condition.
