Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Allen,/Best to you/July 4,
1984". B/w, 8x10. William Campbell (1923-2011) made his film debut
in 1947 in Hi-De-Ho. Over his long career, Campbell appeared in
feature films, including The High and the Mighty (1954), Battle
Cry (1955), Love Me Tender (in which he sang a duet with Elvis
Presley, 1956), The Naked and the Dead (1958) and Hush...Hush, Sweet
Charlotte (1965). He a long list of television shows and series, including
Gunsmoke and Bonanza. Campbell made several Star Trek
appearances, and was a regular at Star Trek conventions. Campbell's first
wife (1952-1958) was Judith Campbell Exner, reportedly the mistress of both
President John F. Kennedy and Mafia boss Sam Giancana. Signature lightly
beaded but legible. Otherwise, fine condition.
