WILLIAM CHRISTOPHER. Photograph signed: "Blessings/always/Bill/Christopher". B/w, 8x9¾ overall, image 7¼x8½ (one surface). Publicity photograph for Aftermash, in which Christopher reprised his role as Father John Mulcahy from the TV series, M*A*S*H, on which Christopher starred from 1972-1983. ©1983, 20th Century-Fox Film Corporation. Captioned at lower margin: "WILLIAM CHRISTOPHER stars in 20th Century-Fox TV's 'AFTERMASH' Mondays, 9:00 p.m. (ET) over CBS TV." After MASH, which aired on CBS from 1983-1984, reunited Christopher with M*A*S*H co-stars Harry Morgan (Colonel Potter) and Jamie Farr (Sergeant Klinger), this time at a veterans' hospital. Fellow M*A*S*H co-star Gary Burghoff (Walter "Radar" O'Reilly) also appeared in two episodes (1984). The series was nominated for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series (Larry Gelbart) for a 1984 episode, "Fall Out". William Christopher (born in 1932) had made his TV debut in a 1965 episode of Twelve O'Clock High. He would go on to be a series regular (as Private Lester Hummel, 1966-1968) on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., and Christopher made a number of guest appearances on TV series through 1998 (Mad About You, on which he played a Chaplain). Christopher, who also appeared in made-for-TV movies, made his big screen debut (as Bill Christopher) in The Fortune Cookie (1966). His other film credits include The Shakiest Gun in the West (1968), With Six You Get Eggroll (1968) and Heaven Sent (1994, in which he played a Priest). Although he is best known for playing a priest, Christopher was actually a Methodist. He has been married to his wife, Barbara, who appeared in a 1975 episode of M*A*S*H, since 1957. Slightly creased at blank margins and corners, light black mark at upper left corner. Minor surface creases (not evident head on), touching forehead and hair. Fine condition.
