Printed card signed in ink: "William D. Mitchell", in blue ink, 3½x2½. Card reads: "I am pleased to furnish you my autograph for your collection. [Signature] Attorney General". WILLIAM D. MITCHELL (1874-1955), an infantry officer in the Spanish-American War and World War I and a prominent lawyer based in St Paul, was Solicitor General Under President Coolidge (1925-1929). Court of Appeals in 1931, the year he wrote this letter, took senior status there in 1948. Toned. Large stain covering from left side to right margin. Paper remnants on verso.
