Inscribed Photograph Signed: "To David / With affection and warm regards / Bill
Brock" in black ink on an 8x10 photograph. Actual image 8x8 with an 8x2 white
area on bottom edge (one surface). Bill Brock (b. 1930) represented Tennessee
in the United States House of Representatives (1963-1971) and Senate
(1971-1977). In his winning Senate race, he beat country singer Tex Ritter in the
Republican primary and then upset 3-term Senator Albert Gore, Sr. in the general
election. He lost his bid for re-election, but went on to hold other political
posts: UnitedStates Trade Representative (1981-1985) and Secretary of Labor
under President Ronald Reagan (1985-1987). Brock resigned from the Cabinet
to manage Senator Bob Dole's 1988 Presidential campaign. Brock was accused
of financial mismanagement and Dole's campaign was unsuccessful. Fine
