William Eythe (1918-1957) was an American actor who worked in radio,
film, television and on stage. During World War II, as many of Hollywood's stars
were away at war, the studios began looking for underage talent. 20th Century
Fox scouted Eythe and he was soon starring alongside Henry Fonda and Dana
Andrews in The Ox-Bow Incident (1943). He then starred in the
Academy Award winning film The Song of Bernadette (1943) opposite
Jennifer Jones. Before being dropped by Fox he co-starred in two of the
studios Otto Preminger films Centennial Summer (1946) and A Royal
Scandal (1945). William was romantically linked to several young
starlets of his time including Anne Baxter and June Hayer. After his stint in
the film industry Eythe worked primarily on stage and in television. Lightly bowed, rippled at top edge. Moderate
adhesive residue on verso (no show-through). Otherwise, fine
condition.
