Typed Letter signed: "Bill", 1 page, 8½x11. On letterhead of National Review. New York, N.Y., 1984 October 22. To Anne Edwards, President, the Authors Guild, Inc., New York, N.Y. In full: "I would love to be with you, but I will be in Switzerland, and I guess as between the two, I'll have to be absolutely frank and say I'd rather be in Switzerland! With cordial regards and thanks for your help on the catalogue. I think it is off to a good start but it has a ways to go." Buckley (1925-2008, born in New York City) was a conservative political pundit and authority on language style, founded National Review magazine (1955). He was the long-time host of the TV interview program Firing Line (1966-1999). Buckley is also the author of a series of novels starring C.I.A. agent Blackford Oakes. Slightly creased. Otherwise, in fine condition.
