6x4 with his small photo affixed. Vaudeville and Broadway performer
William Gaxton (1893-1963) was more prominent on stage than in film,
starring in such musical hits as A Connecticut Yankee (1927-1928),
Anything Goes (1934-1935) and Louisiana Purchase (1940-1941).
He also had important roles in 8 films, beginning with the W. C. Fields
silent It's the Old Army Game (1926) and concluding with Diamond
Horseshow (1945). In The Heat's On (1943), he played a theatrical
producer in love with his star, played by Mae West. Toned. Pencil notes
(unknown hand) on lower margin. Fine condition.
