Haystacks Calhoun and signs an application to renew his wrestler license.
Application signed: "Haystacks Calhoun" and "William Calhoun", 2p (front and verso), 5x3 card. "State of New York/Department of State-State Athletic Commission/Application for Renewal of Wrestler License", approved April 17, 1973. Calhoun has filled out his name and address, signing his "Ring Name", "Haystacks Calhoun", listing his "Ring Weight" at 620 pounds. On verso is a 1¼x1¾ b/w photograph of Calhoun stapled to the card. Two file holes at top; one goes right through Calhoun's forehead. Haystacks Calhoun (1934-1989) in his beard, tee shirt and overalls, was a familiar sight on Thursday night TV wrestling in the 1950s and 1960s. The 600-plus pound Texan held the WWF World Tag Team Title and the Canadian Tag Team Title (twice). He died of complications relating to diabetes at the age of 55.
