WILLIAM J. DEES. Postcard Photograph signed: "W.J. Dees". B/w, 3½x5¼. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). British boxer William J. Dees participated in the 1908 Summer Olympics in the Middleweight division. Dees, who boxed under the auspices of Goldsmiths Institute, had previously been Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) Middleweight Champion in 1897 and ABA Heavyweight Champion in 1900. Not filled in or stamped on verso, which is lightly soiled. Slightly creased at lower left and upper right corners. Lightly soiled. Overall, fine condition.
