of/Connecticut/1947-1948" in black ink. 3½x2. William Jennings Miller
(1899-1950) was a U.S. Representative from Connecticut. During World War I,
Miller enlisted as a private in the United States Army and served in the Air
Service in the 80th Aero Squadron and 1104 Aero Squadrons. Later he was
commissioned a second lieutenant. An airplane crash in France in 1918 resulted
in the loss of both of his legs. Miller was elected as a Republican to the
Seventy-sixth Congress (January 3, 1939-January 3, 1941) and then to the Seventy-eighth and
Eightieth Congress es, serving until January 3, 1949. Toned. Irregular
edges. Corners rounded. Otherwise, fine condition.
