Handwritten letter written to George R. Sanders Jr., son of famed disc jockey George R.
Sanders, responding to a request for an autographed photo
Autograph Letter signed: "William Jansen" in blue ink. 1p, 6¼x7. January 1, 1964. Also
included is an Autograph Envelope unsigned, but addressed in the signer's hand to "Mr. Geo. R.
Sanders Jr." in blue ink, 6½x3½. Toned. Light staining throughout. Corners and edges gently
worn. Otherwise, fine condition. Letter written on his personal stationery containing a
Bronxville, New York address. "Dear Mr. Sanders Jr." In full: "I have your letter of Dec 24th re:
an autographed picture. What size are most of the pictures, 5x7, or 8x10?/ Please tell me a little
more about your father, the radio program, and, more important, the Angling Club/ Very truly
yours". Lightly toned. Horizontal mailing fold. Otherwise, fine condition. Signer merits
further research. George R. Sanders, originally a disc jockey, became a prominent radio/TV
interview host, first in Los Angeles and later in Portland. Two items.
