Autograph Letter Signed: "Moy Thomas". Four pages. 4½x7 (when folded). Dated
July 20, 1880. Sent to W. H. Pollock. In Part: "I am greatly obliged to your kind
hints which if I had only got them on Sunday would have been particularly
serviceable".This letter discusses a variety of publications of the time period,
including Drames de la Vie (1860) and Leonard. William Moy Thomas
(1828-1910) was born in Hackney, now part of Greater London. Early in his
writing career from 1951-1958, he worked under famed British author
Charles Dickens on the weekly publication Household Words. During this
time, he wrote about political philosophy, the social issues of the time, and
literature. He published his first book, titled Poetical Works of William Collins,
in 1858. In 1866, he completed an official three volume translation of Victor
Hugo's Toilers of the Sea. Mailing creases. Toned around creases and edges.
