Willie Nelson first gained acclaim as the writer of hits such as "Crazy", recorded by Patsy Cline, and "Hello Walls", recorded by Faron Young. Nelson's 1975 album, Red Headed Stranger, which included the song, "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain", made him a star in his own right, and he became a popular concert performer as well as a star in such films as The Electric Horseman (1979) and Honeysuckle Rose (1980). In the 1980s, Nelson organized annual Farm Aid festivals to raise money for farmers. His classic albums include Shotgun Willie, Phases and Stages and Stardust.
