Signed and inscribed photograph (4x6½) of the English lightweight champion boxer shown with his fists up.
Photograph signed: "Best wishes/to Norman/Willie Reilly", in black ink. B/w, 4x6½. English lightweight boxer Willie Reilly (b. 1947) spent the majority of his early career trying to qualify for a title fight. Beginning his pro season with a win over Geoff Williams in 1968, Reilly made a slow climb towards his first championship fight, battling John Young Silky, Gary Yean and Kokkie Olivier along the way. While 1971 wasn't his best season (1-1-2), he qualified for the BBB of C Southern Area lightweight title competition against Brian Hudson and won in a TKO. A few months later Jim Watt challenged him for his belt, defeating Reilly with a TKO. However a rematch in early 1972 set the record straight and Reilly reclaimed his title with a TKO in the 10th round. He finished his career a month later with a record of 13-7-3. Fine condition.
