WILT CHAMBERLAIN
Wilt Chamberlain sings a photocopied document stating that no one including himself gave anything of value to any representative of NBC for arranging his appearance on the Today show.
Photocopied Document Signed: "Wilt Chamberlain" in ink, 1p, 8½x11. The basketball great has also printed: "Wilt Chamberlain/10-28-91/Today". Chamberlain attests that neither he nor anyone acting for him gave anything of value to any representative of NBC for arranging his appearance on the Today show. Wilt Chamberlain (1936-1999) made his debut for the University of Kansas Jayhawks' varsity squad in a game against Northwestern on December 3, 1956. He set a school record when he scored 52 points in an 87-69 victory. Chamberlain then guided Kansas to the 1957 NCAA title game against North Carolina. Although North Carolina beat Kansas by one point in triple overtime, Chamberlain was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Chamberlain joined the Philadelphia 76ers for the 1959-1960 season and was Rookie of the Year and MVP. He is the only NBA player to score 4,000 points in a season. He set NBA single-game records for most points (100), most consecutive field goals (18) and most rebounds (55). Perhaps his most mind-boggling stat was the 50.4 points per game he averaged during the 1961-1962 season. Slightly creased. Usual black marks from photocopying at upper edge and at blank areas. Fine condition.
