Martindale, born Winston Martindale in 1933, was one of the most influential disc jockeys of the 50s and 60s, as well as an early promoter of Elvis Presley, who became his lifelong friend. (Martindale's wife Sandy had dated Elvis for several years) Both Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, and Wayne Newton, have said that they first heard their hits played on Martindale's show on KFWB in Los Angeles. Martindale makes frequent TV guest appearances and also hosted TV shows like Gambit (1972-1981), The New Tic Tac Dough (1978-1985), High Rollers (1987-1988) and Hollywood Squares (2002). Lightly toned and creased. Mounting remnants in top right and bottom left corners (do not touch signature). Paper loss on verso (no show-through). Otherwise in fine condition.
