European Space Agency astronaut Ockels of the Netherlands, born in 1946, was a payload specialist on 1985's Challenger STS-61A (Oct. 30 to Nov. 5, 1985) the first West German D-1 Spacelab Mission. This was the first Space Shuttle mission with payload activities controlled by a country besides the United States, as well as the first to carry eight crew members. Since then, he's been a professor of aerospace engineering at Delft University of Technology and worked on sustainable energy, in particular assisting and advising the Netherlands' Nuna vehicle teams that won the World Solar Challenge road race between 2001 and 2007. Lightly toned and creased. Light dents at right edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
