B/w 5x7. Born Yakov Naumovich Pokhis in the Ukraine, Yakov Smirnoff (b.
1951) emigrated to the United States in 1977 and became an American citizen
in 1986. He was a popular standup comedian who ridiculed the Soviet Union
and drew material from an immigrant's misunderstanding of American culture. He
was featured in movies and TV, including appearances on Night
Court and his own sitcom What a Country, as well as a
small role in the cult sci-fi movie Buckaroo Banzai. He is also a
painter who created a 200x135 foot mural called America's Heart after
the 9/11 attacks in honor of its victims. Corners slightly worn and creased.
Toned. Faint staining on bottom margin. Otherwise, fine
condition.
