Photograph inscribed and signed: "To John D. Buchanan with all my/thanks. Yehudi Menuhin April 22/1975". B/w, 6x5. Yehudi Menuhin (1916-1999) enjoyed an international career as a violinist and, in his later years, as a conductor. At age 13, he inspired Albert Einstein to declare at a Berlin concert, "Now I know there is a God in heaven!" Primarily a classical musician, he also produced acclaimed recordings of Broadway tunes and of Indian music (the latter with Ravi Shankar). Born an American citizen, he later enjoyed dual citizenship as a subject of the British Empire. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II and later became Lord Yehudi Menuhin. One-fourth-inch scratch in upper left background. Light vertical crease. Otherwise, fine condition.
