The two actors are shown sharing a phone in this black and white movie still from Young Cassidy
Photograph signed: "Best Wishes/Rod Taylor" and "Maggie Smith". B/w, 8½x10. Movie still from Young Cassidy (1965). Maggie Smith (b. 1934) received her earliest acting training at the Oxford Playhouse School. She has won Oscars for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969) and California Suite (1978), and British Film Academy awards for A Private Function (1985), A Room With a View (1986), and The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne (1987). She also took more serious roles in Richard III (1995), Washington Square (1997), and Tea With Mussolini (1999). Her role in director Robert Altman's Gosford Park earned Smith her sixth Oscar nomination. Made a Dame Commander in 1989, Smith was elected to the Theatre Hall of Fame in 1994. Rod Taylor (1930-2015) made his film debut in the Australian film The Stuart Exposition (1951) and his Hollywood debut in The Virgin Queen (1955). His long list of feature films includes Giant (1956), Separate Tables (1958), The Time Machine (1960), and The Birds and A Gathering of Eagles (both 1963). Taylor also appeared in a number of television movies and several series, including Hong Kong (1961), The Oregon Trail (1975), and Outlaws (1986). He starred in the Australian comedy Welcome to Woop Woop (1997), and, in his final screen role, played Winston Churchill in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009). Lightly creased in lower margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
