Inscribed signature: "to Kayo/Y Montand", 4¼x3 card. Actor Yves Montand (1921-1992), who was born in Italy, grew up in France with his anti-fascist refugee parents. Discovered by his first celebrity lover, French chanteuse Edit Piaf, Montand appeared in French films from 1946, distinguishing himself in such movies as The Wages of Fear (1953) and Jean de Florette (1986). He is perhaps best remembered by American audiences for his roles in politically charged films of director Costa-Gavras: Z (1969) and State of Siege (1973). He was married to renowned French actress Simone Signoret from 1951 until her death in 1985. Ink and pencil notes on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
