The actor signs a handwritten letter to a friend about an
unsuccessful performance by his wife, Ruth Ford. He tells his friend, "We miss
seeing you."
Autograph letter signed: "Zachary". 1 page, 4½x7. New York
City, New York, February 14, 1956. On personal stationery, In full:
"Dear Dave, My best thanks and Ruth's--for your very sweet note to her. The
show was of course severe--but she shall always be wonderful in the most awful
times. We miss seeing you. Best always". Accompanied by unsigned, hand
addressed envelope. Zachary Scott (1914-1965) appeared on London and
Broadway stages before making his first film (1944). He proved equally
adept at playing sympathetic heroes and suave cads. In 1945, he won two
Best Actor awards from the New York Film Critics Circle (for Mildred
Pierce and The Southerner). Married to actress Ruth Ford, he was a
frequent TV guest star in the 1950s and early 1960s. Creased from fold. Fine
condition.
