ZONA VEVEY
The music hall star extends her good wishes. Rare signature.
Autograph Sentiment signed: "My good wishes/Zona Vevey", 3½x2¾ affixed
to slightly larger card. Zona Vevey was the stage name of music hall
singer Maud Brennan (1881-1953), very popular in the first two
decades of the 20th century, and known for her sentimental ballads. She
performed with her husband, Max Erard (1880-1949), a pianist and organist who
composed most of her songs. Vevey made some her recordings, featured on
music hall CD anthologies, and also on popular sheet music. Vevey, whose soft
style distinguished her from most of the music hall stars of her era, was called
"Britain's daintiest comedienne". Toned. Corners and edges lightly worn.
Irregularly cut. Otherwise, fine condition.
