ZORRO TV SERIES
An original 48x41 blueprint sketch for Set No. 3 of the television series Zorro, showing detailed plans for an entry way and a wooden transom window, dated June 10, 1957
Ephemera unsigned, 48x41 open flat, 9x11½ closed. An architect's rendering for Production 5850, Set No. 3. Sheet 7 of 12. Shows detailed drawings of planned designs for an entrance to a building, in particular a wooden transom window above the entrance door, with to scale drawings of how the wood should be carved. Stamped June 10, 1957. Drawn by "Sab". Approved by and signed: "C. Clark" on identifying panel. Premiering in 1957, Zorro brought the story of the Spanish hero swordsman of California to television, produced by Walt Disney Productions with Guy Williams as the titular hero, Zorro (Don Diego de la Vega). The 78 episodes of Zorro were televised from 1957-1959 on ABC and were extremely popular with younger audiences. It also produced a hit recording for the female vocal group, The Chordettes. However, despite the popularity, the show was canceled after two seasons due to financial issues, and was only kept alive by hour long specials. Premiering in October of 1957, this blueprint was drawn up for an early episode. Multiple folds. Toned. Soiled with pencil markings and smears. Some tears where folds meet. Pin holes in corners. Creased throughout. Otherwise, fine condition.
