ZORRO TV SERIES
An original 30x21 blueprint sketch for Set No. 9 of the television series Zorro, showing stage details from the last episode titled "Auld Acquaintance", dated November 18, 1960
Ephemera unsigned, 30x21 open flat, 8½x11 closed. An architect's rendering for Production 3115 (the episode "Auld Acquaintance"), Set No. 9. Sheet 1 of 1. Showing details of the set including two entrances and a stone wall. Dated November 18, 1960. Drawn by "H.S.". Approved by and signed: "C. C." on identifying panel. Premiering in 1957, Zorro brought the story of the Spanish hero swordsman of California to television, produced by Walt Disney Productions with Guy Williams as the titular hero, Zorro (Don Diego de la Vega). The 78 episodes of Zorro were televised from 1957-1961 on ABC and were extremely popular with younger audiences. It also produced a hit recording for the female vocal group, The Chordettes. However, despite the popularity, the show was canceled after two seasons due to financial issues, and was only kept alive by hour long specials. Multiple folds. Soiled with pencil markings and smears. Pin holes in corners. Creased throughout. Toned. Corners worn and creased. Some tears present where folds meet. Otherwise, fine condition.
