ZORRO TV SERIES
An original 41x25½ blueprint for Set No. 3 of the television series Zorro, showing a later cancelled window detail for the Hacienda set, dated June 10, 1957
Ephemera unsigned, 41x25½ open flat, 8¾x11¼ closed. An architect's rendering for Production 5850, Set No. 3. Sheet 6 of 12. Plans for the interior and exterior of the Hacienda, showing "Detail 12", a iron bar detail for the window. On the back, it has been noted that Detail 12 has been omited, and several x's have been drawn to show through to the front. Dated June 10, 1957. Drawn by "Sab". Approved by and signed: "GD" on identifying panel. Premiering in 1957, Zorro brought the story of the Spanish hero swordsman of California to television, produced by Walt Disney Productions with Guy Williams as the titular hero, Zorro (Don Diego de la Vega). The 78 episodes of Zorro were televised from 1957-1961 on ABC and were extremely popular with younger audiences. It also produced a hit recording for the female vocal group, The Chordettes. However, despite the popularity, the show was canceled after two seasons due to financial issues, and was only kept alive by hour long specials. Multiple folds. Soiled with pencil markings and smears. Pin holes in corners. Creased throughout. Toned. Corners worn and creased. Some tears present where folds meet. Otherwise, fine condition.
