Selective discography printed on verso. Zubin Mehta (b. 1936 in Bombay - now
Mumbai, India) is famed for his flamboyant conducting and his dynamic
interpretations of large-scale symphonic works. Among his many conducting
roles have been those of principal conductor of the Montreal Symphony
(beginning in 1961), Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic (its
conductor of longest duration, 1978-1991). In 1981 the Israel Philharmonic
Orchestra named him Music Director for Life. In December 2005, Mehta
commenced a series of benefit concerts on the first anniversary of the Indian
Ocean tsunami. Fine condition.
